When Nickelodeon simulcast the Super Bowl for the very first time, fully reimagined in Bikini Bottom, it became one of the biggest and most ambitious campaigns in the brand’s history. And at the center of the hype: SpongeBob and friends performing Sweet Victory at halftime, a moment fans had been begging for since the dawn of memes.

As Design & Motion Lead, I guided all visual execution for the social campaign. I used the Super Bowl LVIII: Live From Bikini Bottom style guide to create a cohesive look that felt both NFL-epic and distinctly Nickelodeon. Each asset balanced bold, broadcast-level polish with the playful, nautical weirdness of Bikini Bottom, while clearly signaling that this historic simulcast was airing on Nickelodeon.

From motion graphics and announcement templates to character integrations and countdown assets, I ensured every piece carried the same energy, clarity, and visual continuity across platforms. It was a high-stakes, high-visibility project and easily one of the most exciting and creatively challenging campaigns I’ve been a part of.

Slime eye-black gif stickers

To bring Nickelodeon’s signature slime into the Super Bowl conversation, we created Slime Eye-Black GIF stickers — a gooey, green twist on the classic eye-black football players wear on the field. As fans prepped their game-day posts, these stickers let them add a playful hit of slime to selfies, stories, and celebration videos, making it easier than ever to rep Live From Bikini Bottom in true Nickelodeon style.

BUILD YOUR SUPER BOWL DREAM TEAM

To spark fan interaction ahead of Live From Bikini Bottom, we created a playful “Build Your Dream Team” graphic featuring real NFL positions mixed with iconic Nickelodeon characters. Fans could draft their ideal lineup — from quarterback to wide receiver to wildcard Bikini Bottom picks — and share their team in the comments. It was a fun, low-lift way to blend football fandom with Nickelodeon chaos and drive big pre-game engagement.

GAME DAY COMPARISONS

On game day, we kept the Live From Bikini Bottom energy going with a series of quick-turn “moment match-ups.” I led the design team in pulling standout Super Bowl shots — from Travis and Taylor’s post-game hug to highlights from Usher’s halftime show — and pairing them with hilariously similar moments from SpongeBob. The result was a set of instantly shareable side-by-side graphics that blended real-game excitement with Bikini Bottom charm, keeping fans engaged all the way through the final whistle.
